Grab your deerstalker, as you embark on a Sherlock Holmes London Tour, exploring places featured in the books, real sites that inspired Arthur Conan Doyle, as well as locations featured in film and TV adaptations of the detective’s great adventures.
This Sherlock Holmes London Tour is a must-do walk for real fans of Holmes and Watson.
The walking tour starts at the very place where Holmes and Watson first meet at Piccadilly and then takes in literary sites from gentlemen’s clubs to grand hotels featured in some of the novels and short stories, as well as the London that inspired the author of the books, Arthur Conan Doyle.
Some of the stories covered on tour include A Study in Scarlet, The Illustrious Client, His Last Bow, The Adventure of the Retired Colourman, The Hound of the Baskervilles, A Scandal in Bohemia and many others.
Being the most filmed character in all literature, more so that Bond, Oliver Twist, or even Jesus Christ you will also get to see numerous sites that have featured in TV and and film adaptations with Benedict Cumberbatch, Christopher Plummer, Robert Downey Jr and Jeremy Brett starring as the great detective.
Along the way, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take pictures and see the locations up-close.
Feel free to dress up as the Master Sleuth himself or any other character in the series (only if you want to!). The Sherlock Holmes London Tour finishes at Somerset House on The Strand – but please note that this tour does not include Baker Street as part of the itinerary
Please arrive at the meeting point at least 10 minutes prior to the tour departure time. The meeting point is outside 224 Piccadilly (which also says 'Criterion Est 1874. Restaurant' in the blue sign above the entrance) near to the Eros statue at Piccadilly Circus, next to the Criterion Theatre. (Piccadilly Circus Tube – Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines. Leave station by exit for statue of Eros.) where you will find your guide waiting for you.
