Do you dare to join us for an evening tour of the Castle Keep, one of Newcastle's scariest buildings! Explore the dark halls and passages inhabited in the days of old. Your guide will reveal the secrets of this amazing building and scary tales from its past before a refreshment break in the Great Hall. From there, your guide will take you to the roof of the Keep to enjoy the spectacular views over Newcastle.
This is a walking tour of a Grade 1 listed historical monument, so please wear suitable footwear. Unfortunately the Castle Keep is not a fully accessible building, so you will need to be able to manage a significant number of stairs during the event. The Castle Keep may be cold in the evening, so please dress appropriately!

Join us for an evening Halloween Tour of Newcastle Castle!
You will meet your guide outside the Castle Keep, opposite the Bridge Hotel from 5:45pm onwards if you have booked for a 6pm start, from 7:45pm onwards for an 8pm start and from 9.45pm for a 10pm start. Please note that this event does not take place at the Black Gate (which google maps might take you to if you put in Newcastle Castle). They'll take your name and details and the tours will begin at 6pm, 8pm and 10pm. We can wait a short time for any late comers, but once the tour has begun the doors will be locked behind you, so please aim to arrive on time as if you're late you might miss out.
This is a walking tour of a historic building, so please wear appropriate footwear. Please bear in mind that the Castle Keep can be quite cold in the evenings. The Castle Keep is not a fully accessible building so this tour is not appropriate for visitors with mobility difficulties.
There are no toilets in the Castle Keep. The nearest toilets are in the Bridge Hotel over the road from the Keep entrance.
